Stanford issued an apology following allegations the university limited the admission of Jewish students in the 1950s.The university s president said a task force that was formed after the allegations were made had found that the school suppressed the admissions of stanley cup Jewish students. This ugly component of Stanfords history, confirmed by this new report, is saddening and deeply troubling. As a university, we must acknowledge it and stanley cup confront it as a part of our history, as repellent as it is, and seek to do better, Stanford University President Marc Tessier-Lavigne wrote in a letter to members of the school.Tessier-Lavigne added that the report doesn t detail how long the practice lasted. However, he claimed the act had long-lasting effects and dissuaded some Jewish students from applying to Stanford. In addition to an apology, Stanford is undertaking an effort to enhance Jewish life on campus. HELENA 鈥?More than two years into reforms designed to slow, or reebok even reverse, the growth of offenders in Montanas correctional system, state officials say they see indications of progress. But most early data show scant change. Prisons and alternative programs for criminal offenders are still full to capacity, and theres been no reduction in the number of offenders under state supervision outside of prison. At the close of 2019, nearly 10,400 people are still on supervision in Montana, via parole or probat yeezy ion 鈥?a slight increase over the 10, jordan 100 people on supervision two years ago. Another 7,000 people are in Montana prisons, run by the state or local-government and private contractors, or in secure programs run by private contractors, such as prerelease centers.
